St. John’s offers over 2,500 books, periodicals, videos, CDs and icons for the parish to check-out for personal use. The collection is housed on the second floor in the bright, newly-decorated Rogers Room. Comfortable chairs and a writing table invite you to peruse our wonderful collection. A color coded system guides the reader to sections such as Biblical studies, church history, spirituality, and family life. A small selection of fiction and poetry is also included. There is a new section dealing with some of the political, social and environmental issues in today’s complicated world.
A separate children’s section, complete with oversized pillows, welcomes children as they come to view VeggieTales, Bible stories, the Narnia Chronicles and more on their own DVD/video player. Also available is a sizable collection of books for reading or for story
time. Please encourage your children to come and enjoy our offerings.
New books and those of special interest are featured in Library displays, both in the Rogers Room and in Magill Hall. While some reference materials are to be used only in the Library, most books may be signed out using a simple honor system.
The Library is open during church business hours and on Sunday mornings. We look forward to seeing you and your family there. Watch for reviews of new books and old favorites in Tidings.
