Ministry to Adults
Adult Formation
Adult Christian formation at St. John’s takes place in a variety of forms from presentations at our adult forums to weekly bible studies, to centering prayer retreats. We invite you to jump in!
Adult Sunday School

Our adult program during Sunday School will offer opportunities for us to be together in Magill Hall for various plenary sessions as well as break into smaller groups for more in-depth and subject specific classes.
Daybreak Bible Study
6:15 AM Wednesdays: Youth House
This mid-week bible study is for early risers. Join us in the youth house for bible discussion with The Rev. Dr. Bill Parrish and other early birds!
Centering Prayer
7:45 AM Fridays: Chapel
A small group from St. John's gathers every Friday morning at 7:45 in the Chapel for 20 minutes of Centering Prayer. According to Thomas Keating Centering Prayer is "prayer of the heart, prayer of simplicity, prayer of faith, prayer of simple regard".
Please plan to join us as we listen for the voice of God who loves us more than we can imagine. Those who are interested will want to get a copy of Thomas Keating's book, "Open Mind, Open Heart" which offers insights into this method of prayer.
Women’s Bible Study
10:00 AM Thursdays: Library
Are you interested in gathering with other women and learning about how to integrate our daily living with how the Bible speaks to us? There is no need to have any bible study experience to attend. All women are welcome to join us for fun filled fellowship as we grow together in God’s grace.
