What We Do

St. John’s Day School

St John’s Day School, is a half day preschool program with extended day, lunch bunch and early arrival options.  It primary purpose is to serve as an outreach program in the community for St. John’s Episcopal Church.  The Day School is currently at full capacity with 72 students.   Our small classroom size lends itself to close and important relationships between the students and also with their teachers.  We have been reopened for 25 years and enjoy the support of not only the congregation but also the Lynchburg/Rivermont community.

Mission Statement

  • All lead teachers have a college degree or higher and participate in development courses throughout the year.

  • Beautiful outdoor playground space and garden for each classroom

  • Computer lab, library and science lab

  • Music and Spanish, included for free as part of our program

  • Funding has been established for a scholarship programs so that no child is turned away because of financial distress before or during enrollment

Our goal for each child is to ensure that they are physically, emotionally, and mentally ready for elementary school.  By giving children opportunities to a challenging but achievable curriculum as well as the nurturing from gifted faculty we are confident in each student’s success moving forward.
