Boys Home of Virginia to Honor The Rev. Chris Roussell
We are please to share that the Boy's Home of Virginia has made plans to honor Father Chris Roussell on their campus. The weekend of September 26-28, they will induct Father Chris into their Hall of Fame where he will join the Rev. George Floyd Rogers, founder of Boy's Home and first rector of St. John's.
On All Saints Day, November 1, they will also dedicate a bench to Father Chris, where he would often be found sitting and praying on his visits to campus, and dedicate a chalice and patten, the vessels used for communion, in his memory, as well.
Members of St. John's are warmly invited to join for the Annual Boy's Home homecoming festivities on September 27th (see below).

St. John's is also invited to worship at Boy's Home on November 1st on All Saints Day. At this service, we will dedicate and bless the Chalice, Patten, and Bench given in Chris's honor. Lunch will follow with the Boy's Home community in their dining hall. More information and specific times will be shared closer All Saints Day.
If you are interested in making a financial contribution towards the Boy's Home to offset the cost of the chalice, patten, and bench, as well as to support their ongoing mission and ministry, you may contact the church office to do so.
