Your Search Committee is delighted to announce the release of our Diocesan Profile. This marks a significant and exciting milestone as we move forward together as a diocese in the search for our next bishop. We are grateful for your prayerful engagement and participation in the profile’s development. Between the listening sessions, affinity group meetings, and the diocesan survey, over 500 of you made your voices heard. The words of the profile are a reflection of your hopes and dreams for the diocese, an honest assessment of the challenges we face, and the leadership qualities we seek to help us reach toward God’s dream for us. This is the story of who we are as The Diocese of Southwestern Virginia.

Please help us share the profile widely in your churches and Episcopal networks. Nominations and applications will be received through September 2. As we enter the next stage of the search process, we ask you to pray. Pray for your Search Committee as we prepare for candidate interviews and listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all that we do, pray for our diocese as we navigate this transition, and pray for those in discernment who find the words of our profile resonant with their own story.
