Gospel of John Bible Study Spring 2026
Join us for our Bible Study on the Gospel of John! The author of John is the saint for whom St. John’s is named!
Our class on John will run from February 25th through May 20th at 11:00a on Wednesdays in Magill Hall and via Zoom. We will read the Gospel together and explore the story of Jesus Christ in a new way through the Fourth Gospel.. After we read the Gospel together, we will dive deep to explore how John’s Gospel relates to Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and what makes it unique.
Please see the detailed class schedule and readings below. You are welcome to participate whether you are new to Bible studies or returning for more!
If you’d like to receive weekly e-mail updates, contact Fr. Ben to be added to the Bible Study email group in Realm.
Class will meet February 25-March 25th and then take 2 weeks off for Holy Week and Easter Week. We resume April 15-May 20.
Schedule:
We will continue to explore the Gospel of John tomorrow (4/29/26) 11:00a in Magill and via Zoom. Our topic is "who is John's Jesus?" To begin that conversation, we will look at the 7 "I AM" statements in John's gospel. Attached is a document with these statements and their context - I'll have printed copies of these handouts tomorrow for those who desire them.
Coming up:
On May 6th, Father Ken will lead a special class on John's Gospel and the Trinity - how does John prepare us to understand the relationships between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?
On May 13th, we will have another special topic - and perhaps take another look at the I AM statements that we don't get to tomorrow.
Finally, on May 20th, we will conclude the Gospel of John (for now!)
