Registration for the Ordination and Consecration of Bishop-Elect Karin MacPhail
Dear St. John’s -
The Public Registration for the Ordination and Consecration of Bishop-Elect Karin MacPhail is NOW OPEN!
If you would like to attend this event on June 13, 2026 in Roanoke, VA at St. John’s Roanoke, please register using the button below. More information about the event from the Diocesan Transitions Committee is shared below.
Key Registration Information
All must register in advance to attend the worship service and the reception following. One registration = one person; to register multiple people, complete the form for each individual.
Registration guarantees a place at St. John’s (Roanoke). Upon arrival, registered people will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis, starting in the Nave, and then moving to overflow seating in the Parish Hall and Chapel. The committee is working to ensure that those seated beyond the Nave will be fully included in our worship, will receive communion, and will be accompanied by members of the choir. Following the Ordination and Consecration, all present are invited to celebrate by joining the reception on the grounds of St. John’s!
The service will include a diocesan choir. Information about participating in the choir will be sent to each parish on Monday, May 4. Choir registration will then open on Monday, May 11. If you wish to attend the service regardless of whether or not you sing in the choir, we encourage you to go ahead and register using the public registration link.
We will close the public registration when we reach the total capacity of St. John’s. Please register promptly to secure your place. We will communicate again when we reach capacity, and with any other details about a waiting list or additional spots becoming available.
If you register and then your plans change at any point, please contact the Transitions Committee (transitioncommittee@dioswva.org) so that we can release your space for someone else.
Those who have registered can expect to receive more detailed information by email in late May/early June about parking, check-in, and other information for attendees.
If you are unable to attend in person, a Livestream link will be publicly available closer to the event.
Delegates elected to the January 2026 Electing Convention were given early access to registration. If you are one of those delegates and registered, thank you. If you have not yet registered, please use the public form linked above promptly. Please note that a place for you is not being held now that public registration is open. To secure your seat, please register now.
Clergy of the Diocese and those with roles in the Ordination and Consecration should use the separate registration information they have already received, available here. If you are to be a banner bearer for your parish, you or a parish leader needs to complete the banner bearer form here and the committee will contact you to fill out the service participant form.
An FAQ page with more information is available in the latest post on the Diocesan Website available here. If you have any questions, please check the information on the website and then contact the Transitions Committee with any additional questions or concerns.
Please continue to lift up the Bishop-Elect Karin, her family, Transition and Standing Committees, the Diocesan Staff, and our whole Diocese in your prayers.
